Weekly Home Delivery to Goodwood, Uxbridge, Port Perry, Stouffville
This season, 2016, the farm is offering Community Supported Agriculture memberships.
A CSA is a vegetable box delivery service that is purchased at the beginning of the season and helps the farmer to purchase seeds and equipment necessary to grow your food. This model has been used by farmers since the early-1980's as a secure source of produce sales. Members receive weekly delivery of 7-10 bunches of seasonal vegetables per week delivered to their front door.
Vegetables you can expect throughout the season are:
cut lettuce greens, specialty mix with edible flowers, head lettuce and romaine, kale, tomatoes, cucumbers, basil, parsley, dill, tatsoi, onions, carrots, beets, radishes, turnips, summer squash, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, beans, peppers, spinach and swiss chard.
The CSA program is for anyone of whom is interested in eating local, organically grown vegetables, is interested in supporting the delicate ecosystems by purchasing food not grown with chemicals, wants to support a small business and their own local economy by shopping local and wants to keep a small farm in business by limiting the purchase of imported produce. By becoming a member, you grow your personal community involvement and become directly linked to the farmer of whom produces your food.
CSA members take a risk with their farmer by putting faith in crops to grow throughout the season. In the case of a crop failure, CSA members may receive less in their box, however, there is a close knit network of organic farmers of whom the farm may outsource produce from in order to full-fill the CSA needs in the case that such events occur.
Memberships this season cost $448.00 for 16 weeks of weekly vegetable delivery beginning mid-June and ending mid-October
and all bordering towns
