About Mycorrhizae: Mycorrhizae forms a symbiotic relationship with the roots of 95% of the worlds plants and it’s believed that plants were able to evolve onto land due to this symbiosis. Colonization by mycorrhizae can provide multiple functions: increased nutrient uptake, drought tolerance, resistance to pathogens, increased vigor and yield. It has been shown that the presence of Mycorrhizae can increase a plant’s absorption of certain nutrients which it cannot uptake on its own, including phosphorus, nitrogen, sulfur, zinc, potassium and micronutrients needed for plant use. Unfortunately in most gardens and agricultural settings the mycorrhizae is destroyed by tilling, the overuse of chemical fertilizers, and fungicides. The mycorrhizae must be re-added to the soil in order to benefit the plant. Mycorrhizae is naturally 100% organic. About Beneficial Bacteria: Your plants greatly benefit from the action of certain Bacterias and Trichoderma in the soil. Beneficial Aerobic Bacteria enhance plant growth & root formation, decompose organic material in the soil into plant nutrients and build soil structure and humus levels. Bacteria fix nitrogen by converting nitrogen from the air into plant available form. It increases nutrient levels in the soil by converting insoluble nutrients (including phosphorus) for plant use and improves nutrient absorption by increasing cell membrane permeability of root hairs. They stimulate the production of plant enzymes which enhances metabolic functions, naturally accelerate cell division to promote healthy controlled growth, produce natural plant growth hormones, enhance seed germination and viability of emerging seedlings, suppress pathogenic fungi and reduce planting and transplant shock. These actions can reduce the fertilizers needed, lead to higher yields, improve soil conditions, provide plants with increased resistance to environmental extremes (drought, heat, cold), increase plant vigor, color and density, and increase plant resilience to pests and diseases. The bacteria will need to be introduced into a fallow field and re-introduced every 2-3 years. About Trichoderma: Trichoderma produce natural plant hormones which promote plant and root growth. Inoculated seeds resist pre-germination rot and improve the germination rate and period of seeds. You’ll see improved disease resistance and a suppression of pathogenic fungi that cause seed rot, root rot, stem rot and fruit rot. Trichoderma colonizes with the plants root system and develops a symbiotic relationship with the plant. The Trichoderma feed from the starches and sugars produced by the plant; while exuding beneficial enzymes and proteins for the host plants use. As a result, the plant produces a larger root system, improves resistance to stresses such as diseases, and improves its nitrogen and water use efficiency, thus resulting in higher yields.
