My wife and I visited the new Glendora Farmer's Market last Saturday morning and were quite disappointed to find the same old Inland Valley selection for a "Farmer's Market".

The produce stands didn't even bother to try and hide the non-organic packer boxes that their produce came in. Note to consumers: If the box doesn't say organic it has had conventional produce in it and can not be used for organic EVER and maintain the integrity of organic.

The only booth with organic offerings (actually 100% which I commend) was for canned products from San Luis Obispo (a town I love) which is hardly local at 209 miles away.

I saw conventional pomegranate arils which I know come from Reedley, CA (222 miles) because I put the packer in the business of producing pomegranate arils and this time of year they aren't even produced there, they are either imported from South America or India. For this booth I can even fairly accurately say who these people visited at the Los Angeles Produce Terminal Market.

Farmer's Market = Local Organic... Not in Glendora.

Pros & Cons

Pros
This is very close to home for me in a great location with plenty of parking nearby.
Cons
Where's the local? Where's the organic?
