This is a very old market and many vendors have been coming for over 90 yrs. You can see the trucks from the farms and you know where they are from so you know you are getting good home grown and lots of times organic produce. The flowers are beautiful and go quickly and the plants always grow as they should....I have never had a problem with any plants I have gotten at the market. The Cheese Lady gets a delivery on Wed. so she has new products on Thurs and Sat. and she is there all year round. Sometimes on Sat. in the summer there are tents on part of the street behind the market. You can get hot soup there when it is cold or even baked potatoes. The donut guy is great too....apple cider donuts this fall for a buck each and 6 for $5. There is a guy from Gasport that comes with his organic meat and the coffee roaster smells so good. One guy has all kinds of Honey and in the fall there is lots of apple cider. You can get all kinds of fresh picked fruit in the late summer and fall. My husband loves Mcoun apples which are a bit hard to find but oh so good. They even have Osage Oranges (not for eating) to keep the spiders away but don't get them until they fall or they will turn brown way before March and they should be about a buck each and they really do work. I could go on and on about this market but you should just stop by and browse and remember to browse 1st and then go back to buy so you know you got the best price for what ever you wanted to buy. Except for the Cheese Lady....just get in line and buy.

I don't live there anymore so my visits are less frequent but this is my favorite market. If you know your local farms and recognize the name on their truck then you know you're getting local produce. Otherwise, as someone else said, the produce may not be local. Oh and while you're there check out Buffalo area's Hanzlian's hot chicken Italian sausage, yum. Be forewarned to shop very early Saturday as parking can be horrendous.

Cons
A lot of produce is not locally grown, fruits and veggies are sold just like they would be in a store (same brands, with plu codes and stickers)
