A non-profit farmers market jointly owned by the Studio City Residents Association and the Studio City Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the Studio City Farmers Market was created to provide access to locally grown produce and locally produced artisan foods and crafts. The Market is held every Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Ventura Place between Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Radford Avenue. Parking is available at CBS Studios and in the Chase Bank parking lot. The Market’s vendors offer everything from organically raised chicken to artisan breads and pastries to handmade aprons and knife sharpening. Come for breakfast and leave with lunch, dinner, and a whole lot more.

Over the years the Market has become more than just a place to shop, it has become a place to meet and enjoy an afternoon with family and friends. The Market offers hot foods like Corn Maiden Tamales, Franks Crepes and Tropical Island sausages and hot dogs. If you have little ones don’t forget to check out the pony rides, petting zoo, train ride and bouncy slide. Tables are available on the lawn adjacent to the Market for relaxing, people watching and enjoying your Market purchases. Pets are not allowed in the Market. However, Petopia offers free-pet sitting while you shop. They can be found on the lawn at the Laurel Canyon end of the Chase Bank parking lot.

Shopping at the Market is not only good for you, it is good for the community. A portion of each dollar that you spend at the Market is donated to a local charity, civic group, school or government organization. This year’s Studio City Farmers Market Charity of the Year is the Turning Pages Foundation, an organization founded by three local teachers in an effort to fill the holes in summer and after school programs left by severe cuts in public school funding.

Looking for a way that you can help in your community? Each Sunday, the Market hosts one or more non-profit organizations in an effort to raise neighborhood awareness and promote volunteerism and philanthropy. Besides finding the perfect peach on Sunday, you may also find the perfect volunteer opportunity.

These days buying and shopping locally is more important than ever. Statistics show that if every US citizen ate just one meal a week composed of locally raised meats and produce, the country’s oil consumption would be reduced by over 1.1 million barrels of oil per week.* Not to mention the health benefits of eating fresh fruits and vegetables. So grab your favorite shopping bag, your favorite hat and some sunscreen and we will see you on Sunday at the Market.

The perfect size: not overwhelming like the Hollywood Farmer's Market. All the usual good things you expect in SoCal plus some nice extras such as fish, spices and grass-fed beef. This market is particularly good for kids: pony rides and other attractions are there for them. Very good also for freshly prepared food that you eat right there: tamales, pastries, sausages, etc., many options if you want to eat there. Parking not great but not terrible. You can no longer park in the Vons lot across the street (bummer because that was huge), but there are still the small lots adjacent to the market and there is also street parking on Radford.
