The organizers of the South Durham Farmers' Market believe that a strong partnership between local farmers and the communities they serve can have a significant and wide-ranging impact on everyone by supporting healthy lifestyles, wellness, economic diversity, and environmental preservation and sustainability.
The principal mission of the Market is to provide one or more direct retail outlets for agricultural products produced by the farmers and residents of Durham County, in order to foster the continued vitality of the farming land and population in Durham County.
We also strive to:
a) Provide an alternative and transparent outlet for consumers to buy high quality local products in an atmosphere conducive to the exchange of information and ideas between producers and consumers. b) Provide a direct retail outlet for agricultural products produced by farmers and residents of nearby counties. c) Provide a direct retail outlet for high quality locally produced crafts and prepared foods. |

Great community atmosphere and selection!
This is a young market that is still working it's way into the community fabric, but week after week there is a friendly crowd of locals there to buy and sell a wide variety of fresh produce, meat, cheese, flowers, honey, prepared goods, and soap all from a 50 mile radius. Even the prepared foods are prepared with ingredients sourced locally!
