If you’ve been following my blog lately you know I just wrote a book (to be released later this summer) calledFearless Broths and Soups: Ditch the Boxes and Cans with 60 Simple Recipes for Real People on Real Budgets.
And then a few weeks ago, while walking the dog in the woods, I had this thought: What if I created a short bone broth e-course for those who are more visual learners?
The Origin of How to Make Bone Broth 101
And then I had a non-stop barrage of competing thoughts that argued incessantly with each other.
It kinda went like this…
Doubting voice: Is there really a need for a video course for making bone broths? I mean it’s just simmering bones in water for God’s sake.
Trusting voice: You know that “deer in the headlights” look when you ask your clients to make bone broths at home. You know how many people email you questions about it. And you know that no matter how much you explain it in words, some people will never quite get it until they SEE it.
Doubting voice: Can’t they just go to You Tube and get this info?
Trusting voice: Yes but there’s always those folks who appreciate when they can get really great info from one source without having to search around and watch different 20 videos (with all the 5 second ads) tomaybe find what they’re looking for.
Doubting voice: No one will pay any $$ for this.
Trusting voice: They will if you do a good job.
Doubting voice: Seriously, no one’s gonna pay for it.
Trusting voice: Make it crazy affordable. Like $10-$15.
Doubting voice: This will take way too much time to shoot and put together for that price.
Hoarding voice: Who cares? You’ll have tons of bone broth for yourself! Just do it.
And so I did it. Here’s a pic from my fridge to prove it (and thank god I have a chest freezer to store it all)…
To be exact…
- 10 quarts of beef broth.
- 5 quarts of chicken broth.
- 3 quarts of fish broth.
- 9 quarts of pork broth.
- And 4 quarts of a leftover bones broth.
All told, I made 31 quarts of bone broth. Let’s just say I’ll be eating well for the rest of the year.
How to Make Bone Broth 101 Coming Soon!
So the first step was to shoot the videos which I did over the course of a week.
Then I came up with the title… How to Make Bone Broth 101.
Then a tagline… A bone broth-making course for bone broth-making newbies
Then a logo…
And then I asked my techie friend to make a sneak preview video…
Now comes the annoying part – editing the videos, creating the website and doing all that mind-numbing tedious techie stuff. I’m getting some help with that but I hope to have it done soon.
Estimated launch date: early to mid-July.
